Senior Project Manager Clinical Operations

The Senior Clinical Operations Manager will lead the planning, execution, and oversight of maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) projects aligned with PharmAccess’ strategic goals. This role is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.

While the primary focus is on the MNCH portfolio, the Senior Manager will also serve as Medical Advisor to the Global Innovation Pool (GIP) business line, providing clinical insights and a medical lens to guide the development and implementation of GIP projects.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners, the manager will help drive adoption, sustainability of the solutions where possible.



Key responsibilities


Project planning & execution

  • Lead the development and implementation of project plans, ensuring alignment with PharmAccess’ strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the successful execution of projects, managing timelines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Ensure high-quality project execution by facilitating continuous learning and knowledge-sharing.

Stakeholder & partnership engagement

  • Conduct market and stakeholder analyses to inform project implementation.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, and industry partners.
  • Represent PharmAccess in relevant forums, advocating for innovative healthcare solutions.
Innovation & scalability
  • Develop key project deliverables to support healthcare innovation and ensure long-term sustainability, where possible.
  • Stay informed on digital health trends, innovations, and emerging market disruptors.
  • Identify opportunities for scaling successful solutions and integrating them into broader healthcare systems.

Resource & team management

  • Oversee and coordinate project team members, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Manage budget and negotiate contracts with local partners
  • Foster a collaborative team culture that supports innovation and high performance.

Monitoring, Reporting & Resource Mobilization

  • Track project progress and impact, ensuring alignment with key objectives and milestones.
  • Support donor reporting, proposal development, and pitch presentations.
  • Ensure clear documentation and communication of project outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Escalation & Problem Resolution

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating critical issues as needed.
  • Work closely with leadership to resolve challenges and ensure successful project implementation.

Medical Advisor GIP

  • Clinical Journey design with partners
  • PROMS & PREMS Management
  • CoP Lead
  • Care model design (hybrid, mental health, group care, referrals, quality improvement with participating health facilities


Education and Experience

  • Medical doctor (MD or equivalent) with relevant clinical background.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in healthcare project management,  preferably in digital health
  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems as well as clinical and financial challenges related to Universal Healthcare Coverage

 Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in healthcare project management, with a strong preference for experience in digital health and innovation.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare systems and the clinical and financial challenges associated with achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Experienced in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and executing strategic initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities.
  • Highly organized, with strong time management and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an open-minded and inclusive approach to collaboration across cultures and disciplines.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
